Job summary

The Tutorverse in New York City is seeking an experienced ISEE/SHSAT tutor for in-person sessions to help students succeed. You will plan engaging lessons and deliver targeted prep strategies tailored to each student’s needs.

Travel to NYC students, primarily in Manhattan, is required. This contract-based role offers flexible hours and pays $90 per hour, with no micromanagement so you can teach in your own style.

The Tutorverse is seeking to engage an experienced ISEE/SHSAT Tutor (In-person) in the NYC area to help our students achieve!

Requirements

Test Prep Experience: Applicants must have extensive experience in helping students prepare for ISEE and/or SHSAT specifically.

Location: Applicants must be available to travel to students for in-person instruction within NYC, but primarily in Manhattan.

Additional Qualities You Bring to the Table

We're searching high and low for a reliable, organized, and experienced ISEE Test Prep Expert who is passionate and approachable. Our ideal candidate is:

• Dynamic and Engaging: You should be able to hold your own in front of students and deliver content in a dynamic and engaging manner.


• Experienced and has a Bachelor's Degree: We make a promise to our families that our instructors are truly experts in their respective fields, so we ask that you have a bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university, as well as five years of postgraduate teaching experience.

Bonus Points If...

• You have experience with other entrance exams, like the SSAT, SHSAT, ACT/SAT, and HSPT/TACHS.


• You have experience helping students with their academic studies as well! Subjects include, but are not limited to:
  
  
  
  • Math: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB/BC
  
  
  • ELA: Common Core State Exams, general reading comprehension, essay writing, AP Language, AP Literature

This is a contract-based, 1099 position. You will have flexibility and control over your schedule. You will not be eligible for any employee-based benefits such as PTO or health benefits.
