Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking an experienced Inpatient Wound Care RN for a Per Diem/PRN role at St Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. The RN will assess and treat wounds, ostomy care, and related conditions during hospital stays, with day shifts and 8-hour hours.

Ideal candidates hold an active RN license in Missouri, BLS, and previous acute care or wound care experience. Certification in WOC/WCC is preferred; benefits package is available.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
• BLS upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Previous Wound care knowledge and/or experience (1 Year).
• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.
• Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) or (WCC) Board Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate the effectiveness of wound treatments.
• Apply dressings and treatments to wounds, ensuring proper techniques to promote healing and prevent infection.
• Provide comprehensive patient care, including both inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric treatment.
• Educate patients and families about wound care techniques and prevention strategies, ostomy care and continence management.
• Track progress of wound healing, modify care plans, ensure follow-up, and support post-discharge.
• Implement infection control measures and educate staff on wound care protocols.
• Stay up to date on latest wound care techniques; participate in continuing education.
