Job summary

Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, MA is seeking an Inpatient Medicine Veterinary Technician II to deliver high-quality nursing care and support teaching within a busy veterinary hospital.

The role requires AVMA-trained Veterinary Technicians, strong teamwork, CPR readiness, and the ability to manage treatments, measurements, and anesthesia monitoring in a fast-paced clinical environment with holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's Degree or higher in Veterinary Technology or related field.
• Bachelor's Degree from AVMA-accredited institution providing training in veterinary technology, nursing, or science.
• 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician in a fast-paced hospital.
• Experience at a university hospital or large-scale hospital is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care and monitor treatment plans.
• Collaborate with hospital team to coordinate patient care in a high-volume setting.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient condition to care team.
• Complete diagnostic testing as ordered by clinicians.
• Instruct veterinary students and technicians in technical patient care tasks.
• Mentor new veterinary technicians and assistants.
