Job summary

University of Michigan Health – Sparrow seeks an enthusiastic PA/NP to join the Trauma team in our busy Level 1 Trauma Center in Lansing, MI. The role focuses on organizing and managing trauma patients under supervision of Trauma Attending Surgeons, ensuring evidence-based care and service efficiency.

The position supports trauma services with opportunities to participate in education, research, and quality initiatives, with shifts like 3p-12a or 4p-1a, and a full-time inpatient focus.

Qualifications

• NP or PA with hospital trauma experience or training.
• Adult and pediatric trauma care training and competency.
• Michigan license; NP/PA certification; ATLS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage trauma patient care with trauma surgeons.
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Collaborate with nurses, residents, fellows, and other subspecialists.
• Order diagnostic studies and treatments with the attending physician.
• Maintain trauma service protocols and participate in quality initiatives.
• Educate staff, patients, and families; pursue credentialing goals.
