Job summary

University of Michigan Health–Sparrow in Lansing, MI, seeks a full-time Pre-Anesthesia Testing / Perioperative Medicine NP/PA to join our growing team. Located in Lansing, you will work with a multidisciplinary anesthesia team to provide comprehensive preoperative assessment and perioperative care.

The role emphasizes collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nursing staff, with EPIC EMR experience and a competitive salary with incentives.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan licensure required.
• BCLS and ACLS current.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited PA/NP program.
• BA/BS or MS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate with patient interviewing and decision-making for pre-operative patients with anesthesia team.
• Assess, plan and evaluate medical care with the Anesthesiologist.
• Perform physical exam, review labs and imaging, and initiate treatment with physician oversight.
• Prescribe medications during pre-operative phase in collaboration with the physician.
• Serve as liaison among primary physician, surgeon and anesthesiologist.
• Collaborate with care team and participate in quality improvement activities.
