Job summary

Mesa Springs is seeking an Inpatient Therapist to join our Lifepoint Health network. You will conduct individual and group therapy, participate in treatment planning, and collaborate with families and referral sources to support patient care.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, documentation, confidentiality, and adherence to HIPAA and regulatory standards within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or equivalent (required). Experience may be substituted for education.
• Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients preferred.
• CPR Certification and De-escalation certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Current Clinical or Social Work license as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
• Display active involvement in the treatment planning process.
• Provide family session counseling to all patients to ensure appropriate communication and involvement of family members and support groups.
• Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources.
• Demonstrate proactive communication with those involved with the patient’s treatment.
• Work well with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review and nursing staff members.
• Demonstrate active communication with team members.
• Effectively communicate to UR on treatment and LOS issues.
• Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
• Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
• Act as a member of the team during crisis situations, assisting others to ensure patient safety.
• Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills.
• Assist care coordination department as requested.
• Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital standards.
• Display a thorough knowledge of confidentiality
• Complete releases appropriately
• Demonstrate knowledge of HIPAA regulations and abide by those standards
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC, Medicaid, and state and federal laws
• Display active involvement in the discharge, transition, and after-care planning treatment processes and other duties as assigned
