Job summary

Keystone Substance Abuse Services in Rock Hill, SC is seeking two dedicated part-time Inpatient Technicians. Each role is 16 hours per week, with shifts 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

and 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., to support patients and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include observing patients and reporting to the nurse, liaising with outside groups (AA/NA), maintaining environmental safety and hygiene, and professional telephone etiquette.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates effective basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Possesses foundational knowledge of alcohol and drug use.
• Works collaboratively with colleagues, patients, and visitors.
• Maintains sufficient physical strength to perform the manual tasks required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Maintains observation of patients and reports findings to the nurse in charge, including accurately checking and charting vital signs.
• Serves as a liaison for outside groups coming into the facility to hold meetings (AA/NA).
• Maintains environmental safety and hygiene through housekeeping duties.
• Exhibits professional telephone etiquette and communications with patients, co-workers and visitors.
• Adheres to duties assigned as required by the current billing procedures.
• Attend all mandatory training/licensure and receive an annual TB screening.
• Obtain SAS certification by 20 hours of relevant training for bi‑annual recertification.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains observation of patients and reports findings to the nurse in charge, including accurately checking and charting vital signs and encouraging patient participation in family activities.
• Serves as a liaison for outside groups coming into the facility to hold meetings. (AA/NA).
• Strict emphasis on maintenance of environmental safety and hygiene including continuous housekeeping chores.
• Professional and courteous telephone etiquette and communications with patients, co-workers and visitors.
• Adheres to the duties assigned as required by the current billing procedures.
• Attend all mandatory training/licensure and receive an annual TB screening.
• Obtain and remain current with (SAS) Substance Abuse Specialist certification by obtaining 20 hours relevant training for re-certification bi‑annually.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
