Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital is seeking an experienced APP (PA or AG-ACNP) to join the Stroke Neurology team in an inpatient setting. The role involves daily rounding, stroke patient evaluation, and rapid response to acute stroke alerts as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Schedule comprises 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and no on-call requirements. Strong preference for neurology experience and acute care credentials; licensure in Illinois

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing school or PA program.
• Acute care certification required for APRNs; inpatient NP experience may be considered in lieu.
• Current Illinois RN license and APRN license; state-specific practice credentials.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and health histories for stroke patients.
• Provide direct clinical care and disease management in inpatient settings.
• Prescribe medications and order tests within privileges.
• Educate patients, families and staff; participate in quality improvement.
• Mentor students and participate in committees as appropriate.
