Job summary

VCU Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the inpatient Vascular Neurology/Stroke Service. The APP will provide comprehensive care for hospitalized stroke patients, including ED and inpatient consultations, daily rounding, admissions, discharges, and management of inpatient orders.

The role supports a collaborative APP/Physician team with a defined scope of practice. New graduates are welcome and shift patterns include minimal nights with rotating weekends in a busy academic

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant Program.
• Virginia licensure as NP/PA and national certification as appropriate for the role.
• CPR/BLS; ACLS/PALS as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical and surgical care to hospitalized stroke patients.
• Conduct ED and inpatient consultations, daily rounds, admissions and discharges.
• Prescribe medications and manage inpatient orders under physician supervision.
• Collaborate with Attending Physician and multidisciplinary team to plan care.
• Participate in teaching and continuing education to maintain competencies.
