Job summary

Texas Health Dallas, part of Texas Health Resources, is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Center.

This full-time role requires a Master’s in SLP (or ASHA-recognized equivalent) and Texas licensure upon hire; BCLS is required prior to independent patient care. The position includes 3 weekend days every 6 weeks and one major holiday plus 2 minor holidays annually, on a CARF-accredited 44-bed unit focused on exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or ASHA-recognized equivalent.
• ASHA-recognized post-baccalaureate degree required upon hire.
• Texas SLP license required upon hire; SLP-I intern license acceptable upon hire.
• BCLS certification required prior to independent patient care.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; problem solving; time management; leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
• Performs treatment procedures within the scope of the professional license.
• Performs/delegates technical procedures safely and appropriately.
• Utilizes various treatment techniques to achieve goals and progress.
• Assesses patient response and reassesses progress as needed.
• Educates patient and family with treatment plans, safety, home programs, and assistive devices.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and individualized patient focus.
