Job summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bastrop seeks an experienced Therapist/Social Worker to join our forensic inpatient team in Bastrop, LA. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver social services, conduct therapy groups, and support treatment planning for adult and geriatric patients.

The role requires strong crisis intervention skills, broad clinical knowledge, and active licensure in Louisiana.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or closely related behavioral health discipline from an accredited program required.
• Active Louisiana licensure in PLPC, LPC, CSW, LMSW, or LCSW.
• Evidence of strong clinical documentation and treatment planning in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Participate as an integral professional member of a multi-disciplinary team, implementing and assisting in the supervision of social service interventions to patients.
• Must understand facility policies to ensure that policies are adhered to.
• The social worker will conduct therapy groups according to the daily program schedule.
• Group content will be selected according to the current population to promote the most effective therapeutic services.
• Must complete assessments, communicate with family members, assist with treatment plans, and participate in staffing with treatment team as needed.
• Must demonstrate a strong knowledge in a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental, social and behavioral.
• Additional duties include performing crisis intervention, special case conferences, and communication to outside agencies to ensure that the patient rights, care, and needs are met.

Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or experience required:

Education:

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health discipline from an accredited program required.

License:

• Active Louisiana licensure in one of the following: PLPC, LPC, CSW, LMSW, or LCSW.
• Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association. (Will provide service or renewal if needed)

Experience:

• Inpatient behavioral health, psychiatric, or correctional/forensic settings. (Preferred)
• Facilitating individual, group therapy. (Preferred)
• Crisis intervention, de-escalation, and high-acuity patients. (Preferred)
• Group therapy facilitation. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of court-ordered treatment, competency restoration, or forensic evaluations. (Preferred)
• Strong clinical documentation and treatment planning in an inpatient setting. (Required)
