Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Registered Nurse in inpatient care on the Delnor Medical Surgical unit. The role covers three 12-hour night shifts weekly (7p–7:30a), with every third weekend and rotating holidays.

You will deliver patient-centered nursing care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and uphold ANA standards while coordinating care for acutely ill patients. Required are a BSN, an Illinois RN license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited program.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Directs care and utilizes assistants appropriately in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents the plan and communicates decisions.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions and updates the plan of care.
• Uses evidence-based practice to guide nursing decisions.
