Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, in Louisville, KY, is recruiting for an Inpatient Float Pool Registered Nurse. This role requires RN licensure, state licensure eligibility, and experience in inpatient care across Med/Surg, ICU, or ED settings.

The incumbent will participate in policy development and provide leadership within a high-demand care environment. The position offers a rotating schedule with 7:30 PM–8:00 AM shifts, 3–12 hour shifts per week, and 80/80

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with RN licensure.
• State license in the US; temporary appointment possible during bridge program.
• Foreign-educated nurses require degree equivalency validation.
• Must hold current, active RN registration in US territory or DC.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in complex patient care and care coordination.
• Collaborate to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise policies/procedures.
• Provide feedback and support to peers to ensure safe, high-quality nursing care.
• Foster professional development and evidence-based practice among staff.
• Ensure readiness to meet physical and clinical demands of inpatient care.
