Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a full-time Inpatient Registered Nurse for the Central Region Float Pool, offering a starting pay of $41.50 per hour, plus additional premiums and incentives. The role requires a graduate from a Specialty Training Program and at least one year of related experience. Candidates will provide comprehensive patient care, coordinate treatment plans, and collaborate with medical teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program (required).
• Minimum one year of related work experience (required).
• Basic Life Support certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments according to scope of practice and unit standards.
• Address the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients.
• Formulate and provide a plan of care including education and discharge planning.
• Deliver direct patient care: treatments, medications, diagnostic studies.
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise care plans.
• Initiate collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Problem-solve regarding equipment and patient care processes.
• Participate in unit-based decision-making and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Contribute toward unit and organization goals and quality targets.
• Engage in quality and safety education programs.
