Job summary

Geisinger is excited to offer a Graduate Inpatient RN position with a $21k hiring incentive for eligible candidates. The role pays a minimum rate of $40.55 per hour with increases for experienced individuals, plus up to $7 per hour in shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends; relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate Nurses are hired into the following units at GCMC (based on availability): Advanced Acute Care, Cardiac Special Care Unit, Childbirth Unit/Women's & Children's, Emergency Department, Float Pool, Intensive Care Unit, Operating Room, Progressive Care Unit.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
• Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
• Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
• Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care as established in unit standards including education and discharge planning.
• Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based on patient response.
• Initiates collaboration with physicians and team members and acts to resolve patient needs.
• Makes assignments in collaboration with other team members.
• Directs and alters assignments in response to patient changes.
• Promotes teamwork by delegating tasks based on skill and acuity.
• Participates in unit-based decision-making and quality/safety education programs.
