Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Registered Nurse (Level I) for inpatient care. You will deliver nursing care using the nursing process, apply clinical judgment, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve quality patient outcomes.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS within 30 days of hire, and at least 1 year of RN experience. A BSN is preferred. Located in Morgantown, WV with typical hospital shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• One year of registered nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Modifies patient’s plan of care based on data collection and patient’s individual needs.
• Uses Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to provide patient care.
• Delegates according to scope of practice.
• Verifies the plan of care with interprofessional colleagues, patient, and caregiver(s).
• Provides education based on learning needs and involvement of family.
• Promotes effective communication among interprofessional team members & healthcare consumers.
• Influences policy to promote safe patient care.
• Utilizes appropriate resources in providing care, especially in sensitive situations.
• Participates in continuing professional development.
