Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a full-time Inpatient Registered Nurse in Scranton, PA. The role offers a $26,000 hiring incentive and a minimum hourly rate of $40.55, with enhanced rates for experienced nurses and up to $7 shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates. Hours are typically 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with weekend rotation; on-call with a 30-minute response time and orientation training provided for scrubbing.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care through nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel.
• Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies.
• Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
• Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
• Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care with education and discharge planning.
• Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based on patient response.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team to resolve patient needs.
• Delegates assignments and maintains teamwork; adapts to changes in patient situations.
• Takes corrective measures in care and handling of equipment; participates in quality and safety education.
