Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in South Carolina is seeking a Rehabilitation Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment plans for patients in the rehab program. You will collaborate with the care team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

The role requires an active RN license, BCLS within 30 days, and typically less than one year of related experience, with a preference for a BSN.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the state(s) of practice or active compact license as required by law.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
• Less than 1 year of applicable nursing experience.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients.
• Assist patients with exercises, skin care, and positioning to prevent immobility.
• Coordinate with rehab therapy team to manage mobility, cognition, ADLs, and communication.
• Administer medications according to physician orders.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma

Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred

< 1 year applicable experience

Current state RN license or active compact licensure

Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days

Job Summary and Qualifications

In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the Rehabilitation Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the nursing department. You serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and departmental outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

• You will maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients
• You will assist a patient exercise, provide proper skin care to prevent skin breakdown and ensure patients are properly positioned to prevent further immobility
• You will coordinate with the rehab therapy team to provide acute medical management to improve a patient’s loss of or impairment in functional skills such as: mobility, cognition, activities of daily living and communication
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred
• < 1 year applicable experience
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
