Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital is recruiting for an Inpatient Rehab Registered Nurse (PRN) to join a multidisciplinary team in North Charleston, SC. You will assess, plan, implement, and coordinate patient care with the rehab team to improve mobility and daily functioning.

The role supports nursing goals with emphasis on patient and family education, medication administration, and collaboration with therapists. RN licensure in SC and BLS are required, with BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or RN Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• < 1 year applicable experience preferred.
• Current RN license in state(s) of practice and/or active compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients.
• Assist patient exercises and skin care to prevent breakdown and immobility.
• Coordinate with rehab therapy team to improve mobility, cognition, ADLs, and communication.
• Administer medications per physician orders.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.

Job Summary and Qualifications

In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the Rehabilitation Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the nursing department. You serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and departmental outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

• You will maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients
• You will assist a patient exercise, provide proper skin care to prevent skin breakdown and ensure patients are properly positioned to prevent further immobility
• You will coordinate with the rehab therapy team to provide acute medical management to improve a patient’s loss of or impairment in functional skills such as: mobility, cognition, activities of daily living and communication
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing Preferred
• < 1 year applicable experience
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
