Job summary

UF Health Rehabilitation Hospital - North, affiliated with Select Medical, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a per diem position at 15255 Max Leggett Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32218. The role involves supporting therapy plans of care under a licensed PT, coordinating with staff, and contributing to patient education and care delivery.

Minimum qualifications include licensure or eligibility for licensure as a PTA and BLS certification or completion within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant required.
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
• Preferred candidate has one or more years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a licensed PT, assists with the implementation of the therapy plan of care.
• Responsible for delegation and direction of supportive personnel for those assigned patients, in order to enhance patient care services.
• Communicates with supervising PT regarding scheduled patients to identify need for assessment and reassessment of patients, modification of treatment plans and other interventions requiring therapist direction.
• Participates in education of patients, families, students, coworkers and self.
• Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, within the scope of practice.
