Job summary

HCA Healthcare Trident Hospital in Charleston, SC seeks an Occupational Therapist to evaluate patients, design individualized therapy plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions that promote independence and recovery.

You will work with physicians and care teams, monitor progress, document outcomes, and educate patients and families to foster engagement and confidence in the rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• OT license required or eligible in SC.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• BLS/CPR certification within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized therapy plans with the care team.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to promote healing and independence.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and document outcomes timely.

Your role will include:

• Evaluating each patient’s functional abilities and needs, then developing individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
• Delivering skilled, evidence‑based interventions that promote healing, independence, and quality of life through purposeful, compassionate care.
• Monitoring patient progress, adjusting plans as needed, and ensuring thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
• Educating patients and families to build understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery and beyond.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
• Leading by example—providing guidance to therapy assistants or students and upholding HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• (OT) Occupational Therapist
• Bachelors Degree
