Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking an experienced IRF PAI Coordinator to support our Inpatient Rehabilitation program. This role ensures accurate clinical documentation, regulatory compliance, and appropriate reimbursement to help patients reach their highest function.

The ideal candidate has strong clinical assessment skills, inpatient rehab experience, and familiarity with IRF-PAI, CMS regulations, and quality measures.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Therapy, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in inpatient rehabilitation or related field preferred.
• Experience with IRF-PAI, rehabilitation documentation, MDS, utilization management, or quality programs preferred.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations, IRF PPS, rehabilitation quality measures, and documentation standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, complete, and submit IRF-PAI assessments within regulatory timeframes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to obtain and validate patient data.
• Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and CMS compliance.
• Ensure accurate coding and documentation to support reimbursement and quality reporting.
• Monitor regulatory changes affecting IRF-PAI requirements and rehab documentation standards.
• Educate clinical staff on documentation requirements and best practices.
• Conduct audits and quality reviews to identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance.
• Track and report quality indicators, functional outcomes, and performance metrics.
• Assist with survey readiness and accreditation activities.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The IRF PAI Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, completing, and submitting the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI) in accordance with CMS regulations and organizational standards. Working collaboratively with physicians, nursing, therapy, case management, and leadership teams, this position ensures accurate clinical documentation, supports quality initiatives, and promotes compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

• Previous experience with IRF-PAI, rehabilitation documentation, MDS, utilization management, or quality programs strongly preferred.
