Reasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking candidate professionals, preferably with previous experience working with eating disorders, trauma, substance use and LGBTQIA+ communities, to provide compassionate care to both adult and adolescent patients in our Inpatient eating disorder and behavioral health programs at BHC Alhambra Hospital.

Job Description:The ProgramDietitianworks with the attending physician, Director of Virtual and Nutrition Services, and the treatment team to develop the individualized treatment plan for patients in the eating disorder and behavioral health programs. This includes completing nutritional assessments, developing, and monitoring meal plans and providing patient, group and family nutritional education. The Dietitian may also participate in providing education to referral sources regarding eating disorders in general and the program in specific.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Perform nutritional assessments on all patients enrolled in the eating disorders program and documents findings in a timely manner.
  • Consult with patients and family members concerning nutritional needs, nutritional goals and exercise goals.
  • Develop meal plans for program patients based on their individual energy needs to support weight gain, weight loss or weight maintenance.
  • Supervise clients at mealtimes to ensure meal plan compliance.

Minimum Requirement:

Licensure:Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) under the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in nutritional studies.

Experience: Experience in working with eating disorders patients is strongly preferred; however, education in the field may be accepted in lieu of experience.
