Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Pulmonary Advanced Practice Provider team in an inpatient setting. This full-time role collaborates with physicians and APPs to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to diverse pulmonary patients during hospitalization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with Adult Acute Care NP certification or PA-C program completion required.
• Licensure as CRNP/NP or PA-C with board certification required (AL state boards).
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and implements patient care plans for surgical/pulmonary inpatients.
• Ensures complete documentation of assessments and care plans.
• Orders and interprets lab and diagnostic tests.
• Maintains regulatory and quality improvement records and activities.
• Assists in research coordination and patient advocacy.
• Provides orientation/training to new staff as needed.
