Job summary

Northwest Transitions Inpatient Rehabilitation, a department of Oro Valley Hospital, seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to deliver evidence-based therapy and support patient recovery on the Northwest Medical Center campus. Licensed PTA with BCLS required, experience in PT settings preferred, with full-time daytime hours.

You will administer therapies, educate patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care and smooth discharge planning.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in a physical therapy setting required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physical Therapist in evaluating treatment effectiveness and adjusts plans to improve outcomes.
• Implements therapy interventions focused on posture, balance, locomotion, strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, pain management, and daily activities.
• Administers treatment methods under PT supervision following current physical therapy practices.
• Monitors patient progress and reports responses to the supervising PT.
• Provides patient education on therapeutic exercises and self-management strategies.
• Ensures documentation of care, plans, progress notes, and discharge recommendations per policy.
• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team and participates in discharge planning.
