Job summary

University of Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry seeks a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to join our inpatient psychiatry service. The candidate will provide direct psychiatric care on inpatient units, supervise residents, and contribute to teaching across medical students and trainees.

The role supports growth of psychiatric and behavioral health services, with involvement in education, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary rounds.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency.
• Board eligibility or board certification in Psychiatry.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Florida.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatry or consultation-liaison psychiatry.
• Excellence in teaching and clinical supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Manage complex psychiatric and behavioral health cases, including crisis stabilization.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary treatment planning and daily rounds.
• Supervise and teach psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees.
• Ensure timely access to evidence-based care and compliance with regulatory, documentation, and quality benchmarks.
• Engage in quality improvement activities and support SB330 expansion initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotation as assigned.
