Job summary

University of Florida is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to join our expanding inpatient psychiatry team. The candidate will provide direct psychiatric care to inpatients, supervise residents, and contribute to teaching across trainees.

The role includes crisis management, multidisciplinary rounds, and involvement in quality improvement and SB330 expansion efforts. Expected salary ranges from $250k to $300k, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree is required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency.
• Board eligibility or board certification in Psychiatry.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Florida.
• Inpatient psychiatry or consult-liaison experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and clinical supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Manage complex psychiatric and behavioral health cases, including crisis stabilization.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and daily rounds.
• Supervise and teach psychiatry residents, medical students, and other trainees.
• Ensure timely access to evidence-based care and regulatory/quality compliance.
• Engage in quality improvement activities and SB330 expansion initiatives.
• Participate in on-call rotation as assigned.
