Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a compassionate, board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health team at Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. The role focuses on an inpatient unit with some outpatient opportunities, offering a 36 patient-facing hour work week and a supportive Prime Healthcare network.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN).
• Current Illinois medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Valid DEA registration.
• Strong clinical skills in adult inpatient psychiatry preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities with a passion for patient-centered behavioral health care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver inpatient psychiatric care with focus on adults.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, therapists, social workers, and APPs.
• Provide a mix of inpatient rounding and consults with a 36 patient-facing hours per week.
