Job summary

DCH Health System in Northport, AL, seeks a qualified Registered Nurse to join our acute inpatient psychiatric and medical teams on the North Harbor unit.

You will assess patients, document care, educate families, and collaborate with physicians and multiple disciplines to promote safe, compassionate care in a busy hospital environment.

A current Alabama RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS as applicable, and BSN preferred are required or pursued; 24-hour coverage and shift schedules vary.

Qualifications

• Current, active Alabama RN license (or multi-state) required.
• BLS Provider training required; ACLS/PALS/TNCC/NRP optional by unit.
• BSN preferred, minimum Associate degree required.
• Read, write, speak English clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition on admission and continuously.
• Educate patient and family based on needs and barriers.
• Regularly reevaluate care and coordinate with teams.
• Delegate nursing tasks to team members as appropriate.
• Document observations and care changes accurately.
• Provide handoff reports and participate in unit huddles.
• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
