Job summary

San Jose Behavioral Health is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our inpatient mental health team in San Jose, CA. We offer competitive hourly rates, flexible scheduling, and an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to support quality patient care.

Available shifts include Part-Time Fri-Mon evenings, Full-Time Tue-Sat evenings, and Full-Time Sun-Thu nights. Compensation varies by location and experience; hourly range is $60.00 to $69.97.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license valid in state of employment or eligible to practice.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training provided on hire).
• First aid may be required depending on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
• Ensure patients’ status is assessed on an ongoing basis and pertinent information is gathered and documented.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status and related challenges.
• Ensure initial nursing treatment plans are completed upon admission and tailored to assessed needs.
• Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in direct patient care.
