Job summary

Kindred Hospital Dayton and Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care within a 97-bed hospital and 46-bed behavioral health unit. You will develop individualized care plans, coordinate with physicians and the care team, and participate in discharge planning to support patient wellness.

The role requires graduation from an approved nursing program and current RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma).
• Current state RN licensure.
• ACLS preferred; BCLS certification.
• Crisis prevention training preferred; mandatory completion within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum one year in an inpatient psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
• Develop and coordinate nursing care plans with patient, family and interdisciplinary team.
• Administer medications following the five rights and document accordingly.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education.
• Maintain documentation in the medical record and ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with physicians and other departments for integrated care.
• Provide teaching plans and support learning for patients and families.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure patient safety and comfort.
