Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando, FL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide basic medical care, administer medications, and collect specimens under supervision. The role emphasizes patient safety, dignity, and a team-based approach to psychiatric care.

The LPN collaborates with RNs and healthcare teams to monitor patient conditions, support therapy goals, and maintain a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Background Investigation required (see link: https://info.flclearinghouse.com)
• Prefer 1 year experience as a Practical Nurse; 6 months in psychiatric nursing
• Currently licensed as an LPN in Florida; CPR Certification required
• Knowledge of nursing procedures, nursing process, medications and their administration
• Hours: Day Shift 7 AM - 7:30 PM; Rotating weekends
• Must attend full hospital and departmental orientations

Responsibilities

• Use psychotherapeutic interventions to assist patients in regaining or improving coping abilities and prevent further disability
• Assist patients in activities of daily living to promote self-care and well-being
• Provide, structure, and maintain a therapeutic environment in collaboration with patients and other healthcare providers
• Demonstrate clinical nursing competence and uphold quality assurance in patient care
