Job summary

Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital in Houston, TX is seeking a Fulltime Activity Therapist Psychiatric to join the interdisciplinary treatment team and provide therapeutic recreational services to patients across age groups.

You will develop and implement activity therapy plans, apply AT theory, contribute to discharge planning, and plan and prepare engaging activities, with CPR and de-escalation training preferred and CTRS/TRS/TXC/MT-BC/ATR/LOTR certifications encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., recreational, music, art, occupational therapy).
• Certification or registration preferred; CPR required.
• Excellent communication, assessment, evaluation and interpretation skills.
• Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment; DSM-5-TR knowledge helpful.
• Minimum 2 years healthcare experience; inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities
