Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital in Houston, TX is seeking a Fulltime Activity Therapist Psychiatric to join the interdisciplinary treatment team and provide therapeutic recreational services to patients across age groups.
You will develop and implement activity therapy plans, apply AT theory, contribute to discharge planning, and plan and prepare engaging activities, with CPR and de-escalation training preferred and CTRS/TRS/TXC/MT-BC/ATR/LOTR certifications encouraged.

Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is currently recruiting for a Fulltime Activity Therapist Psychiatric.
The Activity Therapist Psychiatric Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, to provide therapeutic recreational and activity services to adult, adolescent, or child patients under HBHH care for emotional or substance abuse problems.
Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy required.).
Certification or registration preferred. Excellent communication, assessment, evaluation, and interpretation skills. Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment; flexibility; teaching or training skills helpful; understanding of, or ability to understand, DSM 5 -TR methodology.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a healthcare field. Inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
CTRS, TRS/TXC, MT-BC, ATR, LOTR. CPR(Upon completion in Orientation or have a current CPR)
and Hospital De-escalation Certification (Upon completion in Orientation)
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible among of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Activities occur inside and outside. Includes variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
