Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Florence Medical Center seeks a PRN Physical Therapist to join the inpatient Florence team. The PT will plan and provide therapy across age groups, under supervision of the lead PT, in a setting serving neurological, orthopedic and post-surgical patients.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited PT program, SC licensure and BLS certification. New grads welcome; 40 scheduled hours per week; pay rate is hourly.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Less than one year experience as a physical therapist; new grads welcome.
• Licensure: Physical Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a physical therapy program for patients based on age-specific and population-specific needs.
• Serve infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Under the supervision of the Lead Physical Therapist, function as a staff therapist.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist reports to the lead Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist II develops and provides optimal patient care by planning and implementing a physical therapy program for individuals based on age-specific and population-specific needs utilizing a developmental and patient/family-directed approach. Under the general supervision of the lead Physical Therapist III functions as a staff therapist. Patient populations served: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric for a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to neurologic, orthopedic, post-surgical, pediatric, medically complex, inpatient, or outpatient throughout the hospital system.

Education: Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program

Experience: Less than one year experience as a physical therapist. New Grads welcome!

Licensure

• Physical Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
