Job summary

Duke University Health System Clinical Laboratories is seeking an Inpatient Phlebotomist for the Duke Regional Hospital unit. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen processing, and coordination with medical staff on a weekend-first shift schedule with a premium on certain weekend hours.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of inpatient phlebotomy or equivalent clinical tech experience, and may hold a phlebotomy certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED. For phlebotomy, completion of a structured training course is recommended.
• Must have at least 2 years experience as a Clinical Tech I or certification as a Phlebotomist and meet competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized phlebotomy procedures.
• Handle specimen processing, labeling, and transport.
• Maintain accurate records and patient identification.
• Operate hospital information systems and software.
