Job summary

Covenant HealthCare is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. The role emphasizes accurate specimen collection, strong customer service, and adherence to Covenant’s Vision and Values to deliver Extraordinary Care for every Generation.

Responsibilities include performing venipuncture, coordinating with physicians and nursing staff, and maintaining quality control and safety procedures. Training new staff and upholding rapid, accurate testing are essential.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• College level Biology or Chemistry (Preferred).
• Experience with LIS applications and strong verbal/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates excellent customer service.
• Contributes to patient satisfaction and net operating margin.
• Assists in training new employees under supervision.
• Performs phlebotomy and venipuncture as ordered by physicians.
• Maintains proper communication with physicians, nursing staff, and laboratory personnel.
• Follows laboratory procedures for specimen collection and testing.
• Records proficiency testing and calibrations; maintains safety practices.
