Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen collection with a patient-first approach. The role supports fast-paced lab operations, handling check-in tasks and quality assurance while focusing on patient comfort and specimen integrity.

Shift options include early morning, afternoon, or overnight hours, with eight-hour shifts. Experience with EMR and medical terminology is beneficial; certification or CMA credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification or CMA certification or 1+ year phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage patient flow, verify demographic data.
• Collect samples via venipuncture or micro techniques for labs.
• Prepare labels, vouchers, and ensure accurate test requests.
• Perform check-in duties and handle non-blood specimen collection.
• Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and QA activities.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
