Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Phlebotomist for inpatient venipuncture and specimen collection in Edgewood, Kentucky. This PRN role requires accurate specimen handling and computer-based processing within the hospital system.

You will greet patients using a professional standard, verify orders, and obtain samples per requirements while maintaining safety and quality standards across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• Phlebotomy student role: 18+ and on track to obtain diploma within 12 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience including customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and performs venipunctures, arterial and capillary collections as requested.
• Interprets physician orders and ensures requests are accurately processed in the information system.
• Uses hospital/lab computer systems and PDA to obtain information, labels and communicate with staff.
• Maintains safe, clean phlebotomy areas and stocks supplies.
