Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to accurately collect blood samples and support patient care. You will communicate with nursing and lab staff, assist in training new team members, and perform clerical tasks as needed.

Role requires phlebotomy skills, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably 1+ year of experience. Carts, safety checks, and adherence to patient identification protocols are integral parts of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of formal phlebotomy training program or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• At least one year of phlebotomy experience in a fast paced environment preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collects specimens from patients with the appropriate sense of urgency, communicates effectively with nursing staff, collaborates with laboratory staff and leadership, assists in training new team members, performs clerical and miscellaneous duties as needed.
• Obtains blood specimens following proper patient identification protocols and established blood collection procedures.
• Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance or safety checks as assigned.
• Provides support for departments in obtaining prior unsuccessful collections.
