Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking a skilled phlebotomist to accurately collect specimens, communicate effectively with staff, and support basic clerical tasks. You will assist training of new team members and help maintain a safe, efficient lab workflow.

Responsibilities include verifying patient identification, following blood collection protocols, and ensuring timely transport of samples to the laboratory. A high school diploma and phlebotomy training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; formal phlebotomy training program or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy skills required; experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior time management, planning and organization.
• Working knowledge of basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collects specimens from patients with appropriate urgency
• Communicates services being performed to patients and nursing staff
• Maintains phlebotomy cart and stock areas; ensures proper disposal of PHI and waste
• Performs daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and safety checks
• May assist in training new team members and provide feedback to colleagues
• Ensures transport of samples to laboratory within 30 minutes of collection
• Demonstrates knowledge of collection protocols and order of draw
