Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Ohio is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the inpatient and specialty pharmacies, delivering medication-related services to in-house patients and take-home medications. Under pharmacist supervision, you will assist with quality control and adhere to the system's mission and service standards.

Qualifications include HS Diploma, age 18+, and active or soon-to-be certification (PTCB/ExCPT) with Ohio Board registration within 90 days.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or high school equivalency.
• 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions.
• Must have or obtain PTCB certification within 90 days of hire; maintains certification thereafter.
• Must have or obtain ExCPT certification within 90 days of hire; maintains certification thereafter.
• Must be registered or able to register with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Preferred: experience preparing IV sterile products.
• Preferred: inpatient pharmacy experience (unit dose, IV admixture).
• Preferred: 1 year in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Preferred: 1 year in Home Care or Long-Term Care pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Pharmacist, performs duties in delivering pharmaceutical care in specialty and inpatient pharmacies.
• Delivers medication-related services to in-house patients and related take-home medications.
• Assists Pharmacists in quality control procedures for drug distribution technologies.
• Upholds the MetroHealth System's mission, vision, values and customer service standards.
