Job summary

MUSC Health Florence Medical Center in Florence, SC seeks a state certified pharmacy technician to join our inpatient team on a PRN basis. You will assist pharmacists with preparation and distribution of meds, maintain drug inventories, and update patient drug records.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and completion of a certified pharmacy technician program; state certification is required. Preferred: 2+ years in a hospital setting and rotating day shifts.

Job Description

Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s), the pharmacy technician assists in all pharmacy operations' functions related to: (1) preparation & distribution of all doses of medication; (2) maintenance of drug inventories (e.g., re-stocking automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital, drug packaging/re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, code cart re-stock, etc); and, (3) completion of patients' records pertaining to drug therapy (aminoglycoside protocol orders, drug charges & credits etc)

Schedule:

Primarily days/rotating shifts

Education:

• High School Diploma required; college-level courses desirable but not required; successful completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program required

Experience:

• (Preferred) two or more years of experience in a hospital or health system.

Licensures/Certifications:

• State Certified Pharmacy Technician
