Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Pharmacy Technician on a PRN/employee basis to assist a registered pharmacist with dispensing and support activities.

You will collect, input, and verify prescription and patient information, receive and stock supplies, prepare labels and routine prepacked orders, and may perform clerical duties in the department. This position requires SC BOP registration and national certification (PTCB).

Qualifications

• Education: high school degree or equivalent; 2 years of work experience.
• SCBOP registration and national certification by the PTCB are required and must be maintained.

Job Description

Assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department.

Additional Job Description

Education: High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 2 years.

Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP), and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required and must be maintained.
