Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I/II per diem to support inpatient operations across multiple departments. Under pharmacist supervision, you will handle distribution, pre-packaging, IV/chemo compounding, and record keeping, while floating to meet department needs.

You must hold a California Pharmacy Technician license and be capable of precise calculations, drug reference knowledge, and aseptic technique. The role requires lifting up to 25 lb and pushing 50 lb, with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• CA Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately.
• Knowledge of drug names, dosage forms and cross-referencing drugs from memory.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Experience with aseptic IV preparation and chemotherapy compounding.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in computer order entry and related tasks.
• Strong communication with pharmacists, nurses and physicians.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and push 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform drug distribution duties and pre-packaging.
• Maintain Pyxis medstations inventory and check for outdates.
• Assist with IV and chemotherapy sterile compounding.
• Keep records: refrigerator logs and hood cleaning.
• Handle billing, housekeeping and security tasks.
• Float between medication reconciliation and inpatient pharmacy areas.
