Job summary

Magee - Women's Hospital of UPMC is hiring a Pharmacy Technician, Intermediate to support the Inpatient Pharmacy, Satellite Pharmacies and travel to Outlying Hospital Clinics. Rotating Daylight and Evening Hours with holidays.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment is offered. The role provides pharmaceutical care for patients, including sterile and nonsterile prep, labeling, dispensing, and distribution while complying with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Registered pharmacy technician or eligible for registration in PA.
• HS diploma or equivalent plus training/experience options.
• Competence in sterile and nonsterile preparation and medication distribution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked work environment.
• Prepare sterile and nonsterile medications using aseptic technique.
• Document logs, inventory, and regulatory compliance.
• Safely store and distribute medications per laws and PBM requirements.
• Travel to outlying clinics to inspect storage and ensure patient care standards.
• Assist with automatic dispensing systems and cart/stock management.
• Support chemotherapy preparation and IV admixtures with proper technique.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and data collection.
