Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii in Honolulu seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations, including filling, compounding, and distributing medications under pharmacist supervision. Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience required or in a pharmacy technician training program.
• High school diploma or equivalent related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to safely handle and/or prepare compounds such as chemotherapeutic agents, biologicals or other medications.
• Training and knowledge with IVs.
• Reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
• Mathematical ability, attention to detail, concentration, and alertness.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, members and other health care personnel in caring, helpful manner and initiates service transactions using proper forms and process.
• Enters data into computer for profiles, labels, admissions, transfers, discharges, issues, and reports medication lists.
• Processes Physician Medication Orders and prepares medications for unit dose distribution; reviews patient profiles and updates as needed.
• Fills and updates unit dose orders; transports medications and supplies per schedule; restocks and maintains records.
• Orders, receives, stores, returns, and discards drugs and supplies; inspects and maintains work area and equipment.
