Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Pharmacy Technician to perform distributive pharmacy services and specialized duties in a hospital setting. You will support pharmacists with medication histories, compounding, PAP processes, and immunizations where permitted by state law.

The role requires active ALBOP licensure and a current CPhT certification; HS diploma or equivalent preferred with prior pharmacy experience. This is a full-time on-site position at St. Vincent's Birmingham.

Qualifications

• Active Alabama Board of Pharmacy registration (ALBOP) required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or equivalent.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support to Pharmacist.
• Perform duties in specialty pharmacy services including hazardous drug compounding, medication history, and PAP.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing system; prepare orders and manage inventory.
• Serve as liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals; communicate with external resources.
• Assist pharmacists with patient education materials and immunizations where allowed by state law.
