Qualifications

Currently registered as a pharmacy technician by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
Active CPhT certification through PTCB or equivalent program required.
High School diploma equivalency; two years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the Pharmacist.
Refills and maintains automated dispensing system; prepares orders and inventories.
Liaises between pharmacy, patient and health professionals; communicates with external resources.
Assists with patient medication access including benefit investigation and prior authorization.
Assists pharmacist in preparing patient education materials.
May give immunizations per state law.
May monitor regulatory compliance and assist with drug shortages.
