Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking an under-supervision pharmacy technician to support inventory management, preparation, and distribution of medications. You will answer calls, take refill orders, and prepare items for pharmacist check while maintaining accurate records.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, Indiana Pharmacy Technician license (or intern/extern), and national certification if not enrolled in a pharmacy program.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.
• Pharmacy Technician National Certification required unless enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.
• 2+ years relevant experience preferred.
• Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires effective customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Under pharmacist supervision, assists with inventory, preparation, distribution, compounding, and processing of medications and supplies.
• Assists with medication processing tasks: answering telephones, taking refill orders, entering orders into system, preparing medications for pharmacist check.
• Maintains records, stocking prepackaged items, delivering supplies, and handling supplies.
• May assist in bulk compounding and preparation of IV solutions.
• Works with staff to minimize medication errors and escalate issues as needed.
